What is the Roof Condition Index (RCI)?

SITE’s RCI methodology is derived from the ROOFER RCI program developed in the 1980s by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) as a standardized tool to help prioritize roofing repairs and stretch limited capital budgets. It uses a consistent 0 to 100 scale, where 100 represents excellent condition and 0 indicates complete failure.

RCI scoring considers the type, severity, and quantity of roofing defects. SITE’s RCI method incorporates an age-based deduction factor layered over the USACE method to provide property owners and managers with critical insight for budget forecasting.This structured, rigorous, and repeatable methodology removes the subjectivity and  guesswork of subjective evaluations.
